The trend to 'appification' is well documented for Business to Consumer. With 81% of American adults owning a smartphone, over 50% of businesses now have Mobile Apps. OTT Media Streaming on smartphones is the new norm. 'Appification' now also applies to Connected Industries. Ubiquitous and powerful Smartphones and Tablets have taken over as the Human Machine Interface (HMI), displacing dedicated screens and consoles. These mobile devices now provide the means to configure and control our modern IIoT machinery, to process and present medical sensor data in IoMT, and to take a major role in preventative maintenance and servicing. More and more, Mobile Device applications are starting to contain critical Intellectual Property (IP). Given all the above, and the fact that Mobile Devices need to be considered hostile environments for sensitive software and ecosystems, there is a clear need for Cybersecurity for Apps. Development teams, who are primarily the Subject Matter Experts for their particular applications, are focused on time-to-market and typically do not have time to apply and assess good Cybersecurity. Compounding this, in most organizations, Application Security is not specifically budgeted… execution is! Today, given the growing shortage of Cybersecurity skills, companies are challenged to put in place a solid Cybersecurity team which spans their organization; even if they had the budget allocation. Irdeto has released Trusted Software as a Managed Service to address these needs. Let's examine some examples of how Trusted Software can meet the needs of Application software protection across your organization.
